Introduction

The Heenan WEIGHbridge is a tool for farmers to test and measure stock performance.

• Identify those deer which gained weight more rapidly than others on the same feed i.e. performers and to identify non-performers and eventually their parentage.

There are two side exit doors and one front exit door enabling three way drafting.

In Practice It Works Like This

You open the door from your yards to the WEIGHbridge. As the deer enters:

• the EID reader identifies its number to the indicator (or you can start the weighing)
• it is weighed
• records are updated automatically and depending on the preloaded instructions (ie by weight or genetics) opens the appropriate exit door
• As the weight comes off the platform the exit door closes
• You are ready for the next deer
• The elapsed time is around 5 seconds

Why Does It Work So Good?

1. IT'S ROOMY - BIG on space - we learned from our WORKROOM Deerhandlers that deer will move into a room more readily than just a narrow race.
2. We believe there is just the right amount of light and the deer sense an opportunity to escape.
3. Quiet floor - sand over carpet provides a quiet - no noise surface for the deer to walk on.
4. Soft open - Soft close doors - no clanging or banging to spook the deer.

The WEIGHbridge is air operated so you need a small compressor - 1hp is adequate.  The platform floor is 2.440 long and is independent from the walls - is covered with a material which makes it super quiet in operation and with no slipping or sliding - walls are 2.200 high inside - 2.500 oa.
